Is this right for the Texas Attorney general to do?

Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton recently did something that typically you would not want from an attorney general. He encouraged public employees to turn a blind eye and disobey a Supreme Court decision. He has encouraged and expressed to clerks of the court they can refuse to issue same sex marriage licenses citing that states can use nullification to ignore federal laws.  The lack of ethical balance doesn’t stop there with this attorney general of Texas; he was also recently indicted on felony security charges. According to legal documents, Ken Paxton is accused of luring his friends into buying stock in Servergy, a company he also claimed to invest in. All the while, he was pulling a percentage off the top to line his own pockets.

Since the attorney general was indicted, three separate attorneys have quit working for him. Paxton has been overly disrespectful to the court and judge overseeing his case; causing further speculation that he is just stalling.

The real question is how will this court obtain justice?  How will the court find justice for the real victims in this case, the other side according to Obergefell v. Hodges? It is now a law that courts have to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex.  Anything other than that is discrimination according to the new law.

Since the Supreme Court ruling, several lawsuits have been brought against the clerks of Texas courts for discrimination. One way that people who are involved in discrimination lawsuits are        reaching out for help, is through FundedJustice.com.

Funded Justice is a relatively new company that serves as a crowd funding campaign specifically catering to those trying to raise money to      fund a legal issue. Funded Justice will not turn away a campaign and believes that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Every person, regardless of the accusation, deserves their day in court and legal representation should not be dependent on financial resources.

#OscarsSoWhite

#OscarsSoWhite

It is the time of year when the stars come out to be recognized for their brilliant acting, directing, screenwriting and overall entertaining nature in the movies. It’s Oscar season. However, one fact about both this year and last year’s nominees has many actors like Jada Pinkett Smith up in arms. There has been not one single African American nominee in two years.

Chris Rock is set to host the Oscars on Sunday February 28th, and many other African American’s are scheduled to present and preform, however why were none nominated? It begs the question of are the Oscars racist or were the movies just not Oscar worthy?
I saw The Revenant, and Mad Max both of which have 10 or more nominations; personally, I preferred Straight Outta Compton to Mad Max but I am not a movie critic. Straight Outta Compton was nominated only in one category, “Writing (Original Screenplay)” ironically, the screenplay writer who was nominated is white.

What do you think? Do the nominations prove an institutional bias against minorities and women within the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences or is it just a weird fluke on who received an Oscar nomination this year?

Racial inequalities and social injustice go hand in hand. Whether it be with stars in the entertainment industry or people like you and me who simply have a hard time getting a fair shake in the system. Funded Justice helps every day in trying to remedy social and racial injustice. If you are a victim of racial or social injustice, please view our website, funded justice for more information.

Too Poor to File Bankruptcy

It doesn’t really make much sense when you think about it. Why does a bankruptcy attorney charge so much if he or she is already aware you are broke? I mean, you wouldn’t be sitting in their office trying to file for bankruptcy if you had extra money lying around, would you.

Yet, typically bankruptcy attorneys charge anyone from $1000 for a simple chapter 7 bankruptcy, to $5500 for a chapter 13 bankruptcy. Why are the legal fees so high? Because there is a ton of work involved in filing your bankruptcy, and the benefit you receive outweighs the cost. The average US household credit card debt is around $15,706. While that number is high, that is only credit card debt. If you have a repossession on your credit, medical bills, and any other unsecured debts, they all will be discharged in your bankruptcy. No more collection calls, no more garnishments or threatening bill collectors hounding you. From the moment you file, you are protected by the automatic stay which makes it illegal for your collectors to hound you.

I’m sure you are scratching your head right now saying that all sounds wonderful, but how do I pay for those legal fees a bankruptcy attorney charges,  to get the benefits from filing for bankruptcy when I am broke?

A crowdfunding platform specifically for legal fees is taking over the web in an effort to help and to do good for the community. If you need a bankruptcy attorney, the chances are you don’t have friends or family members who can help you pay for the legal services. HOWEVER, you might know 100 people willing to give you $25, each which would cover the cost of your legal fees.

FundedJustice.com is easy to use, and is effective at gaining the support you need to fund your campaign for legal funds. They have made their website very user friendly, and go the extra mile for you. They actually market your campaign leaving the only thing left or you to do is to share the link to the campaign you created with your own social media. Funded Justice does the rest. From posts on social media to  press releases and more, FundedJustice.com has a serious need to make sure you get your fair and just day in court.

Making a Murderer; The Ex-Files

#MakingAMurderer ; The Ex Files

Much of the world has been captivated by the Netflix series Making a Murderer in which a story is told about a man who may have been set up by his local police department. There are several theories of why this set up occurred but as more and more people complete the 10 part series, more of the characters are coming out speaking for the first time.
The latest character being Steven’s Ex-FiancĂ©e, Jodi. Jodi Stachowiski was seen extensively in several of the episodes of Making a Murderer professing her love of Steven, and even expressing his innocence. In one of the episodes she recalls the night of Halbach’s murder as she had called Steven from jail. Jodi has a well-documented past of drinking issues and was serving time for a DUI related offense. The call on the night of the murder was recorded and documented and as Jodi says during the episode, Steven didn’t sound hurried or like he was hiding anything from her. It was a normal evening where she spoke with him twice during the time the murder supposedly took place.

Now, flash forward years to the release of the Netflix series, and Jodi has given an exclusive interview with HLN. You can watch the 30+ minute video here: http://www.hlntv.com/shows/nancy-grace/articles/2016/01/13/steven-avery-s-former-fiancee-jodi-stachowski-exclusive-interview

Jodi claims Steven was a very abusive partner; from punching and kicking to throwing her up against a wall and threatening her life, according to her there was no hiding from the wrath of an upset Steven. She goes on to claim that she ate boxes of rat poison in an attempt to get away from Steven. She states that she told the hospital staff about the abuse, as well as her parole officer and no one did anything.

What do you think? Is she lying in order to get her five minutes of fame from the series? What did you think of her interview? In watching it, I found she says “I don’t recall” entirely too many times for my own personal trust of her facts to be solid. I would never say it isn’t possible, because anything is possible. However, why did she stay as long as she did?
One thing I did find extremely interesting about this interview though the guilt that Jodi feels. She claims that on the night of Halbach’s murder, she was supposed to be with Avery. That was supposed to be the night of her release and for unknown reasons to her, the county would not release her that day. She feels like if she would have been released on time, Halbach may still be alive. What do you think, more conspiracy theory?

Many people go through a situation of wrongful conviction and have to fight the upstream battle of the appeals process. Muscle Balm Purchased #WholeFoods Triggers Arrest

To get an idea of the kind of people Danny and I are please see our WorkAway Profile as well as Danny's website. - Also here is the product Danny was arrested for which I believe carries the legal limit of 10 parts per million THC - Hot Hemp Muslce Rub
My partner Danny and I (Kevin) have been traveling nomads since Nov 2014. We visited the sacred Mayan sites of the Yucatan, MX came home to New Jersey for the holidays and then were on the road again. We set out for Washingston state where Daniel attended Acutonics training in the San Juan islands and then continued to visit friends in California. As for myself, I will be attending permaculture training and part of the cross country trip was to get a feel for some of the states/communities, cost of living etc so we could eventually start a permaculture homestead. We decided on Asheville, NC and that was our final destination.
We had just finished a amazing tour of Earthship Biotecture in Taos, NM and were on our way to Oklahoma City, OK for the night before continuing to Asheville. I was driving and pulled over in Dalhart, TX for supposedly doing 93mph in a 85mph zone (It's not a justification but it was the interstate and everyone was speeding). Even though I gave over all of my documentation to the police officer, the attention of the officers quickly shifted to Danny who apparently had a marijuana issue from 2012 on his record (which was expunged and seemingly irrelvent).
Because of Jon's apparent nervousness he was asked to step out of the vehicle and was questioned and I was eventually asked to do the same. When asked, I refused for my vehicle to be searched. There were 3 police vehicles present and 3 officers at this time as we stood outside in the cold. You can imagine the nervous energy in the air. A officer stated that a police dog would be on it's way since I did not give consent and if the dog barked signaling something was in the vehicle they would conduct a search. I was being respecful but this is where I got aggravated as we were now being illegally detained without cause.
We waited in the freezing cold outside of my car for about 30 additional minutes. The dog eventually showed up, circled the vehicle and barked once signaling to the officers something was in the vehicle. The officers then searched the vehicle, found nothing but a empty vaporizer (belonging to me) and 2 tubes of some kind of pain reliving balm/rub similar to Bengay (belonging to Danny) which *may* have had either a small amount (I believe less than 0.10%) of THC or CBD listed as a ingredient. This balm was purchased at a Whole Food so I don't believe it contained ANY illegal substance. Jon explained all this but they refused to listen and instead of being men and letting us go determined the 2 tiny pain rubs needed to be tested and it was not for them to determine the contents.
Danny was then arrested last night and now sits in Dalhart, County Jail with bail set at $20,000. I was given a citation for the vaporizer + speeding violation.
We are tapped out from our savings and what we have left is for our relocation/housing expenses in Asheville. Please help us raise the funds needed to get Danny our of jail and a lawyer higher to filed a civil suit against these officers. I have already received two consultations where the lawyers stated based on just this information the officers acted wrongly in a number of ways and the arrest was unlawful.
I will be posting a video shortly but wanted to get this up as soon as possible.
Thanks and blessing friends!

Gun Rights Activist & Board Member Denied Purchase of a Firearm

A gun rights activist recently attempted to purchase a handgun, but was allegedly denied due to being a prohibited person.
Christopher Smart, Director of Event Security for Gun Rights Across America was denied a handgun purchase in April 2015. This was perplexing because he currently already owned a gun which was purchased in 2012 without any issues.
Upon investigating the reason for the denial, Smart was told he lied on question 11-C of the ATF-4473 form. Question 11-C reads, “Have you ever been convicted in any court of a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison you for more than one year, even if you received a shorter sentence including probation?”
On September 25, 1996 at the age of 18 years-old, Smart was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. Furthermore, this charge was actually caused by a seizure disorder, according to Smart’s online petition to the Massachusetts governor for clemency.
Smart was never made aware that the 1996 charge carried a sentence potentially over 1 year until Massachusetts opened their criminal database to all searches in August 2014, and he was denied the handgun purchase in April 2015.
Smart stated he would’ve most certainly answered “YES” to question 11-C had he known the possible sentence could’ve exceeded a year.
Furthermore, since the 1996 misdemeanor charge, Smart hasn’t received even so much as a speeding ticket.
However, after Smart investigated his 2015 denial, the New Hampshire State Police advised him that his license to carry a handgun had been revoked. Smart voluntarily turned over his carry license to authorities the same day he received the letter.

Brett Combs - Wrongful conviction...two cases in one.

Where to begin? I don’t know how to ask people for help. Being in my shoes, I feel like I’m asking what a life is worth. How do you put a value on life? You don’t. A life is priceless.
So I thought, until I went toe-to-toe with our justice system. The justice system where police officers kill men by choking or beating them to death or they shoot unarmed children. I guess it is easy to justify one’s actions when the public only hears one side of the story and cannot see with their own eyes what really happened.
Many people are aware of the double standards in the state and federal courtrooms across the United States. When you are fighting for your life after being charged with a crime, you are given a public defender. When police officers commit crimes, they are provided private attorneys paid for by the police department or county/state in which they are employed. These lawyers cost the taxpayers (which include the victim’s family) of that city, county, or state tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars. Where’s the equal protection?
I’ve been in the courtroom with a public defender and can tell you it is an uphill battle. These public defenders talk about having only limited resources; they also fail to properly investigate, don’t take time to find out your side of the story, much less have and/or take the time needed to work on your case, then negotiate a plea agreement to get rid of your case and move on to the next case/victim. Where does this leave you? In prison – maybe not for as long as it would have been had you gone to trial and been found guilty (assuming you were guilty), but nonetheless still in prison – even if you are innocent. You now have become a victim of the justice system. Approximately 95% of the criminal cases are plead out, and individuals who take a plea and are charged with a crime (which may be a lesser crime than originally charged with) will have a misdemeanor or felony on their record for the rest of their life. If you have a felony on your record, you loose a lot of your civil rights and it is very difficult, if not almost impossible, to get a job.
This is exactly what has happened to me. I fought for my life and am continuing to fight for my life. I never thought it was possible to be framed. How can you be at a crime scene when you are on video tape at another location? How do police officers get away with destroying court-ordered evidence? How do police officers justify destroying police reports and affidavits or falsifying evidence? The answer is that they hide their crimes from the public eye; no one will ever be the wiser. Recently, a documentary was produced by Netflix on this same type of issue.
This kind of situation happens when you are given an attorney that used to work with the attorney currently prosecuting you, that files motions with bad case law, an attorney that fails to object when needed, that doesn’t ask for the evidence that supports the prosecution’s argument/case, much less question the evidence against his/her client.
A lot of the people in our justice system have no accountability for their actions, violating the constitutional rights of those they are supposed to uphold the law for and provide equal protection to under the law, guilty or not. Though as regular citizens, we are accountable for our actions, like breaking the law. If we break the law, we are charged with a crime. Our justice system protects those within the justice system who are corrupt or commit judicial misconduct. These individuals are protected by either qualified immunity or absolute immunity.
Until you or a family member are put in such a position, such as I have described above and what is currently happening to me, it is hard to believe that our justice system is not a fair system and those within that system would actually do such things regardless of whether that person is guilty or innocent.
I don’t have money for an attorney. I am trying to raise money through various resources to be able to receive proper and just legal representation. In asking for your support, I would like you to think of one of your family members being in a situation such as mine: father, mother, sister, brother, cousin, uncle, aunt...or even your best friend. Could you put a value on their life? Would you not want to get the best legal representation for that family member or friend? Hiring an attorney costs a lot of money; money most of us do not have.
By helping support my cause, it will help to bring to light the corruption, inequality in the justice system, the falsifying or destroying of evidence, allowing witnesses to falsely testify, not following rules of evidence, and other wrongdoings within this system. Though, your support should not stop with my case. When the public really sees the corruption within our system and they take a stand, hopefully, others will not fall victim to bad police officers and others within our current justice system.
I have no wife, no children, but I do know what a life is worth. My mom is patiently waiting until she and I can sit next to each other on the couch watching a movie. It is not until your life and freedoms are taken away from you do you really realize what is most important.
Hiring the right attorney can save my life from continuing to suffer from being wrongful convicted.
I am not just asking you to donate; I’m also asking you to take a stand for fair and equal protection under the law. With this donation and others, it is a start. Maybe if my case gets into the spotlight, like others have through the Innocence Project and other well-known attorneys, we can request from our Congress a Bill of Accountability for all those within the legal system who are currently protected by either qualified or absolute immunity to being accountable for their on-the-job actions. It is possible for someone to turn their cheek the other way, especially if that person knows he or she will not held accountable for their actions.
All I can hope for is power through the people of our country. Set aside the color of the perpetrator, let’s quit making justice just about race. Let’s see things for what they really are, that being the legal system of our once-great nation having lost its way.
The wheels of justice have been going backwards for many generations. It’s time to push those wheels forward down the right track to fair and equal protection under the law for everyone.

Save my husband from dying in prison

My husband, David, has been accused of two serious crimes, which is overwhelming. The second, the ADA lied about the details to pressure him into taking a plea deal. We now know the "evidence" is laughable. David has an alibi, the DNA was contaminated & the technician did not follow anything that remotely resembled protocol. The first case is circumstantial. My husband went out for a walk - late & was in close proximity to the scene of a home invasion. He was back in our house after the time of the crime & went back out to finish his walk - he was stopped by an officer with gun drawn - only matching 1 of 3 characteristics of the perpetrator's description - that he was black. We have 2 cars & he had easy & ready access in our house to $10k - he has no history of drug use. He was brought to the crime scene in the back of a police car, IN HANDCUFFS, surrounded by 5 police officers with the brights & spotlight on him & "ID'd" although the victim said, "at first I wasn’t sure but yeah right at the end, I am pretty sure it was him." After looking at him for 3 minutes.

My husband did not do this. He is facing 25 to life if convicted & he is 54 - he will die in prison. PLEASE HELP us!!

JUSTICE4NANCY

My dearest friends,
I haven't spoken to many of you in years, and for that I apologize.
I, like the rest of you, spent most of my time yearning for the American dream - spending hours, days, and nights building something I believed in.
And now, as I'm writing this, my eyes fill up with tears as I am fighting with every cell in my body and mind to conquer defeat, and regain my life back.
I want to thank my dear friend, Guissu and her wonderful husband Matthew to be the first to donate to my cause.  I want to thank my longtime childhood friend, Angela Gray, for suggesting that I create a platform, like this, to tell you what is currently going on in my world, with hopes that you will lend a helping hand.
Guys, I would never want you or anyone you love to be in my predicament.  The criminal justice system is no joke, and will tear you apart and beat you to your knees if you let it.
The only firm grip I have is on my innocence - any contribution you make to my cause will go directly to a very capable attorney who remains very confident about my case.
I will keep you posted on the status of my case.
Anything you can give ($10, $20, $50, $100, etc) - whatever you can to help.
I appreciate your prayers, your letters of support, a phone call (here's my cell: (310) 800-4997) - miss you all and just can't wait to close this chapter and lead a normal healthy life again.

God Bless You All,
Nancy

My Ibrahim Story Paul Gazzolo

Get Involved and Lend Support -Friends 4 Ibrahim Parlak Legal Defense Fund - Help Him Stay Home

Ibrahim Parlak has owned Café Gulistan restaurant in in Harbert, Michigan for over 20 years. Despite being a model immigrant, the father to a lovely daughter in college and a dedicated member of his community, Ibrahim is embroiled in a legal fight with the U.S. Government to stave off deportation.
The Friends 4 Ibrahim group has rallied around Ibrahim and is committed to helping him win this fight to stay in America, his home. Knowing that Ibrahim has paid over $20,000 to his attorneys just in the past two months alone, we knew we needed to step in and help with legal fees and expenses. Please join us in this effort.
By the time Ibrahim Parlak arrived in the U.S. in 1991, he had endured warfare, imprisonment, and torture in his homeland of Turkey. He is a Kurd, an ethnic minority that has historically been subjected to discrimination by Turks. When Ibrahim was granted asylum in Chicago, he was so grateful. He sought to build a new life free from persecution, and wanted only to be the best American he could be.
Then 9/11 happened, and Kurds who had been politically active in their homeland came onto the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) radar. Without warning, and without cause, Ibrahim was imprisoned in 2004. But by then, he had the love and respect of his community. Hundreds of supporters fought for, and secured, his release.
He has the backing of Congresspersons, several journalists, and former counsel to the FBI on terrorism. Michigan Senator Carl Levin and Rep. Fred Upton introduced a series of private bills to protect Ibrahim from deportation. But Levin is now retired. And these protections for our gentle and industrious friend and family member, Ibrahim Parlak, expired on December 23rd. He now has a 90 day extension – until March 21st, 2016. After this date, he might actually be forced from his home and family, to face possible renewed persecution or death in Turkey or an unknown country. Ibrahim’s attorneys are working hard to prevent this from happening, but the legal fees are mounting.
This man is a devoted father to his American daughter, a small business owner, job creator, taxpayer, and a pillar of his community. When he first arrived, Ibrahim worked as a busboy. As soon as he could, he started his own restaurant with two knives and three pots, and did all the work himself until he earned enough to hire help. Today, 20 years later, his restaurant is famous and beloved in his Michigan town, and he provides many jobs to the community. His daughter is thriving at college.
Few people suffer as he did, or make as much of what this country offers. As Ibrahim said, America provided him "with the opportunity to become someone." Here, "if you live by the rules and work hard...dreams can come true."
The clock is ticking! Let’s not take this upstanding man’s dreams away from him. We ask you to join us in contributing to the legal fund to keep Ibrahim in America.
Please also sign the petition at: https://www.change.org/p/president-barack-obama-stop-the-wasteful-and-unnecessary-deportation-of-ibrahim-parlak?recruiter=451245830&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink

All donations will go directly into a fund to pay for attorney fees and expenses related to Ibrahim’s case.

$5,000.00 Needed to Overturn Utah's Brothel Laws

I have found that an aspiring affirmation can only do so much, but I have also found that touches of intimacy can save lives.
I was born with a facial paralysis that doesn't really hinder me, but it makes me appear odd to others and therefore have been unable to date women. I soon found the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, a legal brothel in Nevada, and it helped me so much emotionally and sensually. My first kiss was in a brothel and it's true what they say: sparks do fly with the first kiss!
As much as I loved going to Nevada, it soon became an undue burden (8 hour travel by Amtrak) and I saw problems with the brothels that I didn't agree with -- I knew I could start my own brothel here in Utah, though, how would I be able to do such a thing when it's illegal?

I decided to follow the law. On December 28, 2015, I registered my proposed brothel (The Mile High Neon) with the State of Utah in hopes of obtaining a license and then planned on going to the legislature to show them and somehow convince the legislators to work with me. I believed I could honestly do it. I followed the steps other Sexual Oriented Businesses register their businesses. I was approved after doing the process online and then proceeded with the city application and the Sexual Oriented Business Application. A week and a half later, I received a letter in the mail from the Dpartment of Cmmerce. They had discovered what I had registered and they "effective immediately cancelled" my business registration.

Having my registration denied (after it was registered -- due to the state's carelessness), caused me harm in a few ways and gave me standing: they told me the exact law that was prohibiting my brothel (UT 47-1); it quashed my efforts to try getting a license to show the legislature. I have standing to challenge the laws as I made my best sincere effort to get a license and the state stepped in my way. I just truly want to help people. I have a facial paralysis and it has been difficult for me to date regular women. I was also fired from my law firm because of rumors stemming from this (I'm a paralegal). I also spent money on the registration fees of which I never was refunded which is the least of my worries.

CONSTIUTIONAL CHALLENGE AGAINST THE LAWS

So I am doing an As Applied Challenge to the laws prohibiting brothels which are: 76-10-1301-1308; 47-1; and 10-8-41. I am arguing that denying a license for a brothel does not a have a rational basis and violates my 1st amendment rights as I am free to believe in the legalization of prostitution, but am denied of my right to create "an association" as promised in the 1st amendment. Agency for International Development v. Alliance for Open Society International (2013) supports the first step of this (Congress couldn't suppress funding to NGOs who wanted to help those in prostitution).

It also violates my 14th amendment rights as since I have a disability, I can't find partners. I am coerced by the laws to "flee" my home to go to a different state (Nevada) where it's legal or I face the threat of prosecution. Justice Scalia in Lawrence v. Texas (2003) said that that case "called into question" the laws surrounding prostitution and same sex marriage. Now look: same sex marriage is now legal.

The laws also violate the Utah Constitution: Article 12, Section 7 which states that Utah is a "free market". Denying my business is not a free market especially when there is tax on other SOBs. It's a hypocritical law really and there is no rational basis. Nevada has shown that it can be run safely.

LAWYER WILLING TO REPRESENT ME:

Andrew McCullough:

I have found a very skilled lawyer who has successfully challenged cases similiar to mine. For instance, he made it legal for escorts to touch clients in Utah after successfully challenging the law as unconstitutional. My case is now like five steps above that. It's ambitious, but I feel that the social climate has made my case ripe. I also have standing. Those two aspects are needed in challenging laws.

Canada -- our neighbor -- successfully overturned their laws in 2013 after it was challenged by prostitutes who claimed that banning brothels was unconstitutonal -- same concept as mine. Why this is important is because our two countries are both common law systems: we have legislatures that create laws and judges who, when challenged, determine if the laws are constitutional. Some of the Utah prostitution laws haven't been challenged since the 1950's and before. A lot has happened since then!

Since I'm a paralegal, I even said I would do a lot of the substantive work (research, etc) which would save me money.

DONATIONS

For him to represent me, he is asking for a five thousand dollar retainer fee. I work two part time, decent paying jobs and it will take a while for me to save up that money. That's why I wanted to do a crowdfunding because this law is affecting me and I want to help others.

WHY DONATE?

EVERYBODY should havfree to have sex and intimacy in a legal, safe place. This law is affecting you just as much as it is affecting me. This isn't a selfish request for a donation. If I could succesffuly do this, as I have really good arguments, and it went to the Supreme Court and they sided with me: all of the brothel laws across the country would be invalidated.

If you believe in consenting adults having the right to privacy in a regulated place then you should donate.

I would appreciate all and any donations immensely.

Deland 17 year old in a Stand your ground/Self Defense Case

On New Years Eve, my 17 year old son Cody and his 2 brothers and brothers girlfriend all headed to Daytona Beach to watch the evenings Fireworks Show. On their way, they stopped at a McDonalds to grab a bite to eat thru the drive thru. As they ordered and waited in line for their food, a 47 year old man named Kevin L. Robinson was in the vehicle in front of them and got out of his car, walked over to theirs and told them they bumped his car. The kids did not roll into his car so they stated that again and told the man they weren't giving him any money. He got back into his vehicle as it was his turn to get his food and he pulled away. My kids then got their food, pulled away and as they started to turn onto International Speedway, the driver, which was my oldest sons girlfriend realized that Robinson was right on their tail. Frantically she pulled out and kept driving. Robinson followed them, staying right on her bumper and also would get into the other lane and swerve into into hers causing her to swerve from missing him and then would get back behind them on their bumper again. The kids were scared to death and this went on for several miles until the driver decided to pull into the Marathon gas station hoping that he would leave them alone with people around and a lighted place. She pulled up by the gas pumps and Robinson pulled up beside them. He got out of his car, as did his girlfriend/wife and approached the kids car while he was yelling and cussing. Once Robinson got to their car, he reached in and punched my oldest son unconscious with one hit and was coming after the rest of them when shots were fired from inside the car.
This is a 47 year old 6'2" man weighing 240 lbs that just chased a carload of teenagers of ages 20, 18, 17 and 15, for several miles into in lighted gas station where they tried to get away from him and punched one of their siblings in the front passenger seat unconscious and ALL of the kids were in fear in of their lives.
I have done extensive research on this guy and has 45 convictions, not arrests, did one prison term in 1999 of three years for many different crimes and had only been out of Federal Prison less then a year from a 10 year sentence for multiple crimes and got early release due to the Obama Release from prison overcrowding. The man was also driving that night without a valid Drivers License and the Daytona Beach Police Department charged this man with NOTHING!!! That's right, not one single charge but charged my 17 year old with Assault with a firearm.
Please help us prove my sweet boys innocence and save him from losing many many years of his life by going to prison for a crime that was clearly Stand your ground/Self defense. For those of you that are not familiar with this statute, its FL Statute 776.012-776.013 and I am posting below:

FLORIDA’S “STAND YOUR GROUND” STATUTE

776.012 Use of force in defense of person.

A person is justified in using force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force. However, a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat if:
(1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony; or
(2) Under those circumstances permitted pursuant to s. 776.013.
776.013
(1) A person is presumed to have held a reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another when using defensive force that is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm to another if:
(a) The person against whom the defensive force was used was in the process of unlawfully and forcefully entering, or had unlawfully and forcibly entered, a dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle, or if that person had removed or was attempting to remove another against that person’s will from the dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle; and
(b) The person who uses defensive force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry or unlawful and forcible act was occurring or had occurred.
We will eternal grateful for ANY donations to help save an innocent child from his life ruined over protecting himself and his siblings. He doesn't deserve to sit in prison when they tried to get away from this man with no luck. We also know that many of you cannot help with donations, so we ask that you please pray for our family and my son.
Thank you to each and every one of you that have taken the time to read this, pray for us and any donations that you have been so giving to help us. God bless each of you.

David Trujillo Defense Fund

My son, David was arrested and has been held at Santa Clara County jail, charged with a crime he is innocent of.  We need to provide him with the best lawyer possible so that he can come home.  Unfortunately, lawyers are expensive and we need the help of the people who know and love David by donating any amount possible.
Anyone who knows David, knows that he is not capable of being a party to committing any crime, but most especially this one.
Please help us to get our son home, where he belongs.
Love,
Raelene

Arrested for something I did not do - Neighbor filed false police report

I was accused of something I did not do. I did not realize having to clear my name of a felony burglary was going to cost so much, but I'm trying to hire an amazing attorney out of West Orange, NJ.

My neighbor has never liked me, always complains about every neighbor, and has just created problems for everyone living in our community. A week ago the police showed up at midnight and arrested me. She has falsified a police report by saying I broke into her laundry room in our basement common area, used her detergent, and broke her doors. Sounds like a joke right? I wish it was. This woman has made my life hell. Calls animal control on my dog, because she's a specific breed, gossips to other neighbors about me because I'm in recovery for several years and tells them I am a junkie. That, I can tell you I am not. I work my butt off, manual labor, six days a week for almost 10-11 hours a day. I am the typical person trying to make ends meet, but I have no complains about my life, I enjoy my life. Not only have I been arrested, but since I was arrested Monday January 11, at 1230am, I had to be to work at 5am, but could not make it on time since I was getting bailed out, so I have now lost my job. My only source of income. I am absolutely sick over it.

There is no reason for me to do this, because I HAVE MY OWN LAUNDRY MACHINES AND DETERGENT!

This feeling of anxiety is sickening. I cannot sleep or eat, and have been trying to find another job ASAP because I don't know how I can pay for my attorney. This has happened to the wrong person, how can the police take her word for something like this? They have no evidence and yet I was arrested.
This may be a long shot, but I figured I would try. I never ask people for help, but I always help whenever I'm able to. I'm hoping karma can find my name and make things start looking up for me. I just need help. I don't know how to make this work and I don't even know how I can even make my rent payments if I don't find another job. Luckily my landlord is cool and will wait, but hiring this attorney can't. I gave her the only $1,000 I had left. I'm embarrassed to say I'm in this situation, but I can't make people who don't know me believe that I didn't do this. I can just hope and pray they may.

Save My Children

Please help save my children My daughter is 5 and my son is 3.  They are being forced to live in substandard conditions by their mother who has them housed in a 4 bedroom house occupied by 7 people. My children do not have their own beds (are forced to share beds with adults) or their own bedrooms. They are being denied basic medical care such as vaccinations. And are falling behind in their education daily because the mother refuses to enroll them in any proper school program. I am seeking custody of my children but the court has thus far not deemed any of these issues a problem as they have done nothing to remedy the situation even though their own employees (The Probation Dept.) found her house unacceptable. Whereas my home has been inspected by Probation AND the DCCP and found acceptable as I have a bedroom for each child and wish to see to their medical and educational needs. I am rapidly becoming financially exhausted and am facing bankruptcy because of the legal fees and court costs. I fear that i will not be able to continue fighting for what i know to be right and in the best interests of these wonderful children. I have always been fiscally responsible and never in debt but I find that all of that responsibility has been destroyed. I am asking now for the help I need in fighting this battle and appreciate any hand of help extended. Thank you so much! and God bless!

Help Free an Innocent Man

My dear friend of over 20 years was sentenced to 40 years in Texas prison for self-defense. After being jumped several times and having his face kicked in with steel toe boots, by the same group of men, he decided to carry a pocketknife for his own protection. Ultimately, the day came where he was facing them again and this time he protected himself. No one was seriously hurt or killed. He was arrested and charged. Did he make the right choices? Who knows? However, it is not right or fair that he is in jail.
It seems that the only way you have a chance of justice in the American judicial system is if you have money. Unfortunately, he had none and was represented by a public defender with no time to dedicate to the case. The public defender urged him to plead guilty and take 25 years in prison and my friend decided against that. After all if you were innocent of a crime would you agree to 25 years in prison?? According to my friend, the public defender had no idea what he was doing and even incriminated my friend at times. The verdict came back and he was sentenced to 40 years!!!
I started this because I felt like I had to at least try to do something. I am so tired of seeing how broken our system is. A child rapist like Jared Fogle gets 15 years. There are plenty of people who murder people that get less than 40 years. Yet my friend is rotting away, his daughter is growing up without her daddy and his friends and family miss him dearly all because he didn't have money to hire a lawyer.
We have the most people incarcerated than any other country!! Most of these people are serving sentences that do not fit the crime, or lack of crime. People are pleading guilty for crimes they are innocent of because they can't afford lawyers and are afraid they may be convicted and receive a harsher punishment. This is madness!!!  An innocent man should not be in prison for 40 years period, but even if he wasn't innocent 40 years is a ridiculous sentence.
My goal is to raise money to hire a lawyer and get an appeal case going. I am going to be using my own money to help fund this but being a single mother I need all the help I can get. I have donated to crowdfunding pages in the past so maybe my karma from that will swing around to this fundraiser. Any amount will be appreciated, even 1 dollar. If you can donate, please share the post as well. If everyone gives at least 1 dollar and shares the post, I may be able to make my goal. It is for a good cause so let it be your good deed of the day.
