We are hoping to raise money to retain attorney Geordie Duckler, LCC
My name is Terry and I run a volunteer group called Kona Alert For Stolen Pets in Oregon to help reunite pets with owners.
Our current Kona Alert case involves a family of a husband, a wife and an infant. A few months ago, the family entered into a work for rent situation living in a trailer on someone's property, landscaping for living quarters and utilities in Aurora, Oregon. The family did landscaping work on 3 properties in exchange for living in a trailer with electric and water. When work was done in just over 2 months, this landlord told them to leave in 24 hours. When they begged for more time, it escalated the situation. The landlord turned off water, electric got an eviction notice for October 31. However, before the court issued date, decided to tow the trailer with family's animals still in trailer. He refused to tell family where their animals were.
Family went to police who told them it was civil.
The county animal control office advised owners to find Kona Alert. Kona Alert started spreading the word through social media to find trailer and animals. Through Kona Alert trailer was found. Police got permission to enter trailer and found no evidence of recent animal activity. Kona Alert will continue to search for animals, but landlord needs to give more information on where these animals are now.
Family is needing to seek legal help at this time, but do not have the funds. They are consulting with Geordie Duckler, Animal Law attorney. Please help! Anything helps!
