There are no winners when you find yourself caught up in the middle of a "domestic dispute."
John was unjustly convicted of a violent crime when he was only doing what he does and being who he is. He never should have been arrested in the first place. He was railroaded into prison because the local police office "didn't want another George Zimmerman" type case.
Facts didn't seem to matter and his defense failed him. He is a good man and a decorated veteran who lost against two thugs when he intervened in a "domestic dispute" gone wild. The prosecutor portrayed him as an angry, wanna be cop who had conducted an unauthorized traffic stop, which is false.
The truth of the matter is that if he hadn't intervened a man may have died. However, like a lot of "domestic disputes" they turned against the one who tried to help.
His witnesses that were on the scene were intimidated into silence, and would not come forward. The "investigation" conducted by the police was shoddy, at best. The police made no effort to track down his witnesses. This case is a mess, and he should never have been convicted.
