What Did Jay Z Know? Lawyer Induced Nightmare!

It reads like a legal nightmare. An attorney changed who the “Petitioner” in a case was, without his client’s consent. Also, to make it just a bit more complicated, it involves a young man who is the alleged son of famous rapper, Jay Z (AKA Shawn Carter).

This situation started in 2011 when Lillie Coley became the legal guardian of Rymir Satterthwaite. Shawn Carter and Rymir’s mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, had a romantic affair in the early 90’s. Rymir and his God Mother Lille have been entangled in a paternity fight for the last five years attempting to prove that Shawn Carter is his father.  Shawn Carter has successfully dodged the paternity test thus far.

However, that is not what this case is about. This case takes all of those complications and adds salt to the wound with an unethical attorney hired originally by Ms. Coley (See original retainer agreement below) Nowhere on the retainer agreement will you find Rymir’s mothers name, Wanda Satterthwaite, as she was hospitalized and fighting for her life. The attorney never spoke to Ms. Satterthwaite, in fact the only communication between the two was a document signed from the hospital room, stating she was in fact incompetent to sign documents since she was recovering from a medicated coma.

When the Petition was finally filed, the Petitioner listed on the documents was not Coley but instead, Satterthwaite. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is addressing the possible unethical movements of the attorney and Rymir, with Ms. Coley, is now asking for your help.

Rymir, with Ms. Coley, is asking for donations and help spreading the word about this campaign; for the legal fees for her case against the attorney who removed her as the Petitioner which caused continuous violations to occur for her and Rymir in NJ.  She has already obtained counsel who will begin working on this lawsuit as soon as their retainer is paid.

This Case is not about paternity but having a fair due process in the court of law.
