Need help in protecting myself and daughter!

Hi, I'm Lindsey and I have an 8 yr old daughter. I am in the process of getting a divorce. I was married for 8 years and it was an abusive relationship. I decided this past October that I needed to get out to protect myself and my daughter. I hired an attorney and he has charged me for ridiculous things and he has not done anything in my favor, he did almost put me in contempt of court. I now owe him $13,000 and he is requesting to get paid that and to be paid ahead of time for future court appearances. I am relying on my dad for help and it has cleaned out his savings. I am not getting child or spousal support and I'm currently waiting on a decision for disability. This means that I have nothing to contribute.
