Victim of a vexatious $100K defamation lawsuit

New Beginnings Debt Consulting is a Windsor, Ontario-based consulting firm that provides services to Ontario residents struggling with unsecured consumer debt.

For the past several years, both New Beginnings Debt Consulting, and one of its principals, John Kulikowski, have been offerering services described on the firm's website as Informal Proposals.

These Informal Proposals fall within the definition of "debt settlement services" under the current Ontario Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act--and predecessor legislation--the Ontario Collection Agencies Act.

In Ontario anyone offering or providing "debt settlement services" as defined in the Act must either possess an Ontario collection agency license or be exempt from the requirement of being licensed.

Neither New Beginnings Debt Consulting nor John Kulikowski hold the necessary licenses under the Ontario Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act nor are they exempt from so doing under the Act.

I wrote two blog posts on October 14, 2015, raising this issue following which I was served with a Statement of Claim in which New Beginnings Debt Consulting sued me for $100,000 for defamation.

I have irrefutable evidence, including e-mails written by John Kulikowski corroborating the statements made in my blog posts dated October 14, 2015.

The following three videos were taken in the first week of November of 2015 when our undercover operative met with John Kulikowski--one of the senior executives of New Beginnings Debt Consulting--for 22 minutes at his home office in Windsor, Ontario.  The first video is eight minutes, the second video is 10 minutes, and the third video is less than four minutes.

I am the victim of a vexatious lawsuit--totally without merit--brought by a firm which sues anyone who dares raise questions about whether or not it is operating in compliance with Ontario law.
