We have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have asked us how they can help our brother, Charlie Beck, in his current legal fight. After thinking long and hard about what would be appropriate, we felt setting up a GoFundMe page was the simplest way to provide an avenue to help.
As you know, Charlie Beck has been charged with a serious crime. It's fairly obvious to anyone who knows Charlie that he didn't do it. We can't legally get into the specifics of the case, but we can say that the "evidence" against him is completely circumstantial and there has clearly been a "rush to judgement." However, on the basis of this circumstantial evidence, Charlie has been charged with some very serious felonies and because of that, Charlie could face the rest of his life in prison.
As you can understand, we cannot leave that to chance, so we opted to hire a defense attorney to represent Charlie in court, rather than go the public defender route. Obviously, hiring a good attorney is not cheap. But Charlie's freedom is priceless to anyone who knows him, as is restoring his reputation in town.
